Finding True Energy & Focus

Let’s Get Our Energy Back!

Midlife is a transformative phase, but it often comes with unique challenges. Hormonal changes, increased responsibilities, and the natural aging process can all contribute to fatigue, brain fog, and a lack of motivation. It’s no wonder so many of us reach for caffeine and sugar to power through the day—only to find ourselves exhausted and relying on sleep aids at night.

The good news? You don’t have to stay stuck in this cycle. By making a few intentional changes to your daily habits, you can boost your energy, sharpen your focus, and feel your best—naturally.

Here’s to Finding our True Energy!

Tip #1: Great Sleep and True Relaxation

Let’s start with the foundation of energy: sleep and relaxation. They are so integral, I did a podcast episode on each of them already.

AND they are integrally linked: Stress effects how well you sleep and how well you sleep is a variable on how well you handle stress.

Add to that stress is one of the main drains of our energy.

Learning how to truly relax and getting deeper sleep is definitely step 1 for finding your True Energy.

Tip #2: Let Go of Energy Drains

Stress is a major energy zapper. When you’re constantly overwhelmed, your body stays in “fight or flight” mode, leaving you exhausted and unfocused. Here’s how to manage stress and let go of energy drains.

  • Identify toxic people: Take note of the people who drain your energy. Are there boundaries you can set or maybe it’s time to let go of the relationship?
  • Identify things on your mind: What tasks are weighing on you? In the episode, I share ideas for releasing the tension.

By reducing stress, you’ll free up mental and physical energy for the things that bring you joy and fulfillment.

Tip #3: Fuel Your Body with Energy-Boosting Foods

What you eat plays a huge role in how you feel. Instead of relying on sugar and caffeine for quick energy, focus on nourishing your body with foods that provide sustained vitality:

Whole, nutrient-dense foods: Incorporate plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats into your diet.

Hydration: Dehydration can lead to fatigue and brain fog. Aim to drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Energy-boosting snacks: Reach for snacks like nuts, seeds, Greek yogurt, or fresh fruit instead of sugary treats.

Food is fuel, and the right choices can make a world of difference in your energy levels.

Tip #4: Move Your Body Throughout the Day

Exercise is a natural energy booster. It increases blood flow, releases endorphins, and helps you sleep better at night. The key is to find ways to move your body consistently:

  • Incorporate movement into your day: Take short walks, stretch, or do light exercises like squats or lunges during breaks.
  • Find activities you enjoy: Whether it’s yoga, dancing, or hiking, choose exercises that make you feel good.
  • Start small: Even 10-15 minutes of movement can make a difference.

Regular physical activity not only boosts energy but also improves focus and mood.

Tip #5: Harness the Power of Essential Oils

Essential oils are a natural way to enhance energy and focus. Here are a few favorites to try:

  • Peppermint: Known for its invigorating scent, peppermint oil can help boost alertness and mental clarity.
  • Clarity: This blend is designed to promote focus and clear thinking.
  • En-R-Gee: A stimulating blend that can help combat fatigue and increase energy.

Use these oils in a diffuser, apply them topically (diluted with a carrier oil), or inhale them directly for a quick pick-me-up.

Tip #6: Start Your Day Well

How you start the day is crucial for your energy the rest of the day. Whether you give yourself 10 min or 60, you’ll find it can make a huge difference to find what you need.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Exposure to natural light first thing in the morning can help regulate your circadian rhythm and boost your energy levels. If you can step outside even better!
  • Exercise a bit – move your body somehow. Stretch, walk, even a few minutes will get you going.
  • Pay attention to the food you eat in the morning and tap into what fuels you well.

Tip #7: Consider Natural Supplements

Sometimes, our bodies need a little extra support. Here are two supplements that can help boost energy and focus:

  • Ningxia Red: This antioxidant-rich drink is made from wolfberries and other superfoods, providing a natural energy boost.
  • Ningxia Nitro: With a base of Ningxia Red and additional goodies to help with focus.

  • Inner Boost and Balance: A supplement designed to support mental clarity and physical vitality.

Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplements.

Conclusion: You Can Feel Energized and Focused in Midlife

Breaking free from the caffeine-sugar-sleep aid cycle is possible. By prioritizing great sleep, managing stress, fueling your body with the right foods, and incorporating natural tools like essential oils and supplements, you can boost your energy and focus—naturally.

Remember, small, consistent changes add up over time. Start with one or two of these strategies and build from there. You deserve to feel vibrant, focused, and energized in midlife and beyond.
