Part I: The start of the saga…
I would like to get a bit personal with you because I think it’s a story worth telling.
AND, I want to preface this by saying, this email is hard for me because it hits a very vulnerable place, in fact, THREE vulnerable places – so please be kind.
I gained the “Covid 15”, only it was more like 20.
I know it was the result of stress, we had trauma hit our home hard during the pandemic, so I had compassion for myself initiallyBut then I struggled – A LOT – to lose it. I just couldn’t seem to release and I know how to do it. I have studied, taught and lived wellness tips for FOUR DECADES!
But I just couldn’t do it.
Vulnerability #1: Admitting I couldn’t figure out what I needed. The bigger vulnerability is below so stay tuned!
Part II: What’s this I see? A Solution?
Perhaps that which I teach works. 🙂
 Then, about a month ago, I realized I had some deep-seated beliefs around weight loss because of my age. “When you get to be ‘a certain age’ as a woman, weight gain is inevitable so just get used to it.”
(If you have ever studied with me, you know that thinking drives me nuts! I have called many a client/student on that limited thinking – BUT here it was for me, too!)
Vulnerability #2: Soooo, when I pulled out those beliefs of mine, I realized I wasn’t applying what I teach. I needed to manifest the answer.
I set some guidelines for the manifesting because I am past wanting a solution that calls for hard discipline or deprivation. I wanted something that would be easy and I could sustain – because I also didn’t want a quick fix that then caused the weight to come back on.
After I had that realization (about 6 weeks ago), I was scrolling through FB and noticed a friend talking about a powerful “jumpstart” she was running that was helping people lose weight, reducing pain in joints, sleeping better, having more energy, improving digestion, you get the idea, AND she kept saying how easy it was!
Honestly, I scrolled by with a “too good to be true” kind of feel.
The next day, I saw it again and realize I wasn’t saying YES to something that could be a solution! (A huge problem we all need to work on! Here’s what I mean.)
Anyway, I reached out to her and while she said she couldn’t share the details, because it was something that had a fee attached to it, it was focused on reducing inflammation. But I could purchase the program.
Hmmm… that was something I could create myself! I didn’t need her program, I know about this!
Part IIa: Side note on inflammation –
Stick with me – you need to know this for the story!
If you aren’t familiar, inflammation occurs when your body’s immune system goes haywire and starts attacking healthy cells, tissues, and organs.
And we all have at least some systemic inflammation.In the short term, inflammation can cause:
- Weight gain – that is then hard to lose
- Bloating
- Joint pain, including osteo and rheumatoid arthritis
- Disturbed sleep
- Fatigue
- Foggy brain
- Mental health issues such as depression
- GI issues, including reflux, IBS, diarrhea and constipation
If you have any of these (and who doesn’t), there is a good chance it is at least partly attributed to inflammation – really!
And, in the long term, it can lead to some serious health issues like heart disease, diabetes, and even cancer.
The biggest causes include: stress, poor diet, alcohol & smoking and exposure to toxins.

Part III: Wait! I can do this!
So I sat down and outlined an anti-inflammatory cleanse for me and decided to share it with a few of my wellness community members.
