Are You Wired… or Worn Out?
Overwhelm doesn’t always feel the way we expect it to. Sometimes it looks like exhaustion. Heavy limbs. Low energy. Brain fog. The “I don’t want to get off the couch” energy. The kind of tired where even taking care of yourself feels like too much.
And other times?
It feels like the exact opposite. Racing thoughts. Restlessness. An inability to sit still. That buzzing, anxious energy where your body feels “on,” but not in a good way.
Both are overwhelm just expressed differently.
And here’s where most wellness advice misses the mark: It offers one solution… for two completely different experiences.
But your body doesn’t need a one-size-fits-all approach.
It needs the right kind of support for what you’re feeling in the moment.
That’s exactly why I created this Yoga for Overwhelm series—two short, simple practices designed to meet you where you are.
When You’re Worn Out
If your overwhelm feels like exhaustion, your body isn’t asking for more effort. It’s asking for less. This is where gentle, supportive movement becomes powerful.
Slow stretching. Deep breathing. Simple, calming shapes.
The goal isn’t to push. It’s to soften.
To give your nervous system a signal that it’s safe to slow down.
This is the practice to turn to when:
1. you feel drained or burned out
2. your energy is low
3. you want to move, but need it to feel easy
When You’re Wired
On the other hand, if your overwhelm feels like restlessness or anxiety, stillness can feel almost impossible. Your body has energy that needs somewhere to go.
In this case, the answer isn’t always to slow down right away. It’s to move first… then calm.
This practice helps you:
1. release built-up tension
2. move excess energy through the body
3. settle into a more grounded, relaxed state
Think of it as a reset that meets your energy where it is—so you can actually come back to calm.
✨ Choose what your body needs today:
Feeling exhausted? Go gentle.
Feeling wired? Move, then reset.
Either way, you’re taking a step toward feeling better—and that’s what matters.
