One of the fundamentals of a truly happy life is having a dream for your life that gets you really excited, something that makes you want to grow and eveolve and move into the life.

BUT you have to have a dream in the first place! AND it needs to be BIG ENOUGH to get you excited. Often I find people think they know their dream but it’s not their deepest desire so it isn’t what lights them up.

And, yes, you have one, but it might be buried deep beneath beliefs that tell you you aren’t good enough, you can’t do it, it’s not practical, blah blah blah. Stick with me! You’ve got this!

Oh, and I made a WORKBOOK for you! It has extra resources and goodies in it, too. (Yes, it’s na opt in, but for a reason – I have a few extra goodies for you!)

Finding What You Really Want: A Vision for Your Life

Have you ever wondered what your life would look like if you had a clear and inspiring vision? So many of us live day-to-day without truly connecting to our deepest desires and goals. If you’re ready to uncover what you truly want and begin crafting a vision for your life, this guide will take you through two crucial steps: setting up the ideal environment for inspiration and engaging in four powerful exercises to tap into your dreams.

Step One: Get Set Up to Be Inspired

Before diving into any exercises, it’s important to create the right conditions to allow your vision to flow freely. Here’s how:

1. Set Aside Time:  Make a commitment to devote a solid chunk of uninterrupted time to this process. You want enough space to step back and see the bigger picture of your life without feeling rushed or distracted.

2. Get Grounded:  Do things that make you feel good, grounded, and peaceful. These activities will help you connect to your Higher Self—that wise, intuitive part of you that knows what you truly want. Consider:

  • Taking a walk in nature.
  • Enjoying a meal that nourishes your body and soul.
  • Spending time with people who inspire you.
  • Visiting a place that holds personal or spiritual meaning for you.

3. Find a Beautiful Spot: Choose a setting that feels special to you. Whether it’s a park bench, a cozy nook at home, or a serene beach, the environment you choose will influence your ability to think deeply and dream big. Bring along your favorite pen and a journal (and the workbook for this video!)

4. Treat Yourself If you enjoy wine, consider having a single glass to help ease limitations and open up your creativity. (One glass is plenty; more may lead to distraction.) If alcohol isn’t for you, a calming tea can provide the same grounding effect.

CRUCIAL STEP: Honor Your Desires

Start the process by accepting yourself fully. Whatever comes up, embrace it without judgment. No thinking, “That couldn’t happen.” Or “I can’t imagine HOW I would create that.”

LET YOURSELF FULLY DREAM!

Think of this as a fascinating experiment into the depths of your own soul.

Step Two: 3 (+1) Exercises to Tap Into Your Vision

Now that you’ve created the perfect environment, it’s time to explore what you truly want. Explore all of the exercises to find the one(s) that really resonate with you. (I have used all of them over the years but I find clients tend toward one or two at any one time.) These exercises will help you dig deep and find clarity.

#1: If you won the lottery:

Imagine that you’ve just won an enormous sum of money. You’re financially free for life. Now, ask yourself:

  • What would you do with your days?
  • Where would you live?
  • What causes would you support?
  • With whom would you spend your time?

This exercise helps bypass the limitations of your current circumstances and allows you to dream without constraints.

#2: Envy: A Surprising Teacher:

Envy often reveals what we secretly wish for ourselves. Think about the people you feel envious of:

  • Friends or family members whose lives inspire you.
  • Influencers or public figures you admire.

Ask yourself: What is it about their lives that sparks envy? Is it something they have or something they are? Is it their freedom, creativity, relationships, or achievements? Use these feelings as clues to uncover your own hidden desires.

#3: Childhood Dreams:

What did you want to be when you were growing up? Before the world told you what was practical or possible, what excited you? This exercise taps into the unfiltered part of yourself that already knew what would make you happy.

Write down your childhood aspirations and reflect on how they connect to your current life. Are there pieces of those dreams you can still pursue today?

(While I share a different story in the video, I had to share this one here. Yep, it’s me. My first baby Downdog! My career was written in the stars. 🙂 )

BONUS TIP:
Make a List of Everything You Don’t Want

Sometimes, knowing what you don’t want is the fastest path to discovering what you do. Create three columns:

  • On the left, list everything you don’t want in your life (e.g., stress, unhealthy relationships, financial struggles).
  • In the middle, write the opposite of what you don’t want. Seeing the opposite will help you
  • On the right, reframe each item into what you do want (e.g., “I want financial stability” instead of “I don’t want to struggle financially”).

This exercise not only clarifies your desires but also shifts your focus toward positive outcomes.

One more thought…

Be Patient with Yourself

Crafting a vision for your life is a deeply personal journey, and it’s okay if your answers don’t come all at once. Let this process unfold naturally over days, weeks, or even months. Keep revisiting your journal and allowing new insights to emerge.

Final Thoughts

Your life’s vision is not about achieving perfection; it’s about living in alignment with your deepest values and desires. By setting aside time to connect with your Higher Self, exploring these exercises, and embracing your unique dreams, you’ll begin to uncover what you truly want. Remember, this is your journey—one filled with endless possibilities.

So, grab your journal, pour that glass of wine or tea, and start dreaming. The life you’ve always wanted is waiting for you to imagine it into existence.
